Oregon State Science Pub. Old World Center, 341 SW 2nd St., Corvallis. 6 p.m. Free. Demographic disparities in financial literacy topic of Oregon State Science Pub talk March 1. Financial literacy and how an Oregon State University center seeks to reduce disparities among demographic groups on the topic will be the focus of OSU’s Science Pub event at 6 p.m. March 1. The HillBenders present: WhoGrass. The Whiteside Theatre, 361 SW Madison Ave., Corvallis. 7 p.m. $20-$30. Formed in April of 2008, and still touring with the original lineup, the HillBenders took performing arts venues, festivals and clubs all over the US by storm in 2015 with their critically-acclaimed “Tommy: A Bluegrass Opry.” They followed up the Tommy tour with a year of successful dates joining Keller Williams for “PettyGrass” (featuring Tom Petty hits).
